Ideas tested in practice.

I am a philosopher, educator and youth practitioner based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

My work began in environmental philosophy. First Class Honours and a Master of Philosophy at the University of Queensland led me into relational ontology, naturalism and the philosophical consequences of how we describe the more-than-human world.

University teaching then required those ideas to survive contact with students from philosophy, science, engineering and data disciplines. Teaching philosophy, ethics and Responsible Data Science made clarity, explanation and intellectual judgement practical concerns rather than abstract virtues.

Work with young people in Cooktown, followed by secondary English teaching in Chiang Mai, widened that practice further. Different communities and classrooms changed the questions I asked about understanding, context and what good teaching requires.

I am now completing a Master of Secondary Teaching in English and Philosophy & Reason while tutoring secondary students privately. My developing interests include metaphilosophy and AI in the classroom, both grounded in earlier work rather than presented as established specialisations.
